The first Baltic Model United Nations conference was held in 2008. It had been initiated by students from Innerstädtisches Gymnasium Rostock (ISG). About one hundred participants from many different countries followed the invitation and have experienced an interesting and personal conference. After this successful event the ISG decided to hold annual conferences in the beautiful Hanseatic city of Rostock. Currently it is and should remain a summit organized by high school students for fellow students. By doing that the BALMUN-Team seeks to retain personal contact between the participants. Besides offering real UN-procedures and fascinating MUN-experiences BALMUN enables an intercultural exchange among a growing number of international participants by having rather small committees and interesting get-togethers. With the support of many experienced MUN-students from all around Europe we were able to realize this idea and we will be delighted to uphold this event for the Baltic region. http://www.balmun.de/
